Olivia Cheng’s Biography
As an actress, media personality, producer and published writer, Olivia Cheng is a storyteller of many mediums currently based out of Vancouver, Canada.
Olivia’s acting career kicked off in earnest when Academy Award winner Robert Duvall handpicked her out of a continent wide search to star in AMC‘s 2007 Golden Globe-nominated and Emmy Award-winning epic Broken Trail.
Up until that point, Olivia was focused exclusively on media. She was reporting for Canada’s national Global News Network, and freelancing as a youth culture features writer for Canwest newspapers. Her articles have been printed in publications like the Edmonton Journal, Vancouver Sun, Montreal Gazette and TheNational Post.
Following Broken Trail, Olivia was recruited to work as a freelance correspondent for Entertainment Tonight Canada, and traveled from L.A. to London to cover red carpet events.
Acting soon took over as a full time pursuit as she began training in theatre and landing roles in a number of film and television projects. As well, she is the creator behind two projects currently in development.
As Olivia’s journey as an artist unfolds, her pursuits behind, and in front of the camera continue to catch the eye of media publications around the world. Most recently, Canada’s FLARE magazine featured her as an inspirational change maker to look out for, and she has been invited to be a speaker for organizations like Canadian Mental Health, International Womens’ Day and the Tokyo Foreign Press Club in Japan.
